More Error coins Here is another group of cent error coins to let some of the newcomers see what we mean when talking about error coins. Like the first group, most of these I pulled out of new rolls in the early 70's |

This is a 1957 BIE cent. This is a full BIE with the diebreak between the B and E filling up the whole space. |
This 1957-D cent has a filled upper 5 and a diechip on the lower 5. This lower diechip makes this coin a "fishhook lower five" because it looks like a fishhook. |

This 1955-S cent has the die chips on the 955 and also on the mint mark S. These were fairly common in the 50's. |
This 1955 cent has the makings of a real die break with die cracks along the stem of the 9 and joining the 9-5-5. |

This 1960-D ld cent has what's known as a "skirted R", a real nice covering for the lower part of the R. |
This is a 1971-D cent that apparenty was struck through a piece of thread or something similar. The thread was lying on the reverse die when this was struck and left a nice image. |

This 1955-S cent has a horned B and E in LIBERTY and has two parallel die gouges running to Lincoln's back. I call it the "conspiracy" cent because those two die gouges sure do look like bullet tracks to me. |
This 1960-D small date cent has errors typical of cents of the time. There is a die break in the 6, another between the U and S of PLURIBUS and another in the O of ONE. There is also a die crack on the C and linking the C and E in CENTS. This die is a candidate for being replaced. |

This is a comparison of the 1960 large and small date cents. Note the 0 on the large date is very round whereas on the small date it is not as wide as it is tall. Also note the 6. On the small date, the end of the lower loop is directly below the end of the upper stem. That is not the case on the large date. |
